
INGREDIENTS
- 1 lb (450g) steak (sirloin, ribeye, or flank)
- Salt and pepper
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, thinly sliced
- 1 bell pepper, thinly sliced (optional)
- 4 slices bread (sourdough, ciabatta, or baguette)
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2-4 slices cheese (provolone, cheddar, or Swiss)
- Optional: lettuce, tomato, avocado, mayo, mustard
COOKING INSTRUCTIONS
- Season steak with salt and pepper.
- Cook steak in olive oil until desired doneness; rest and slice thinly.
- Sauté onions and bell pepper.
- Butter one side of each bread slice.
- Place cheese on unbuttered side of bread.
- Layer sliced steak and sautéed veggies.
- Add optional toppings.
- Top with remaining bread slices, buttered side out.
- Grill sandwiches until golden and cheese melts.
- Cut diagonally and serve.
